Stock trading is the buying and selling of shares in a particular asset or company. A stock trader buys a stock, owns it, and then sells it for the market value of the stock. Similar to the exchange market, shares can be traded through CFDs (Contracts for Difference). This means that you can trade the price movements of a particular asset or company without having to buy the shares in physical form.

If you believe the price of a stock CFD will rise, you can take a long (buy) position. If you think the price of a stock is going to fall, you can take a short (sell) position.
